Geek Out and Grow Together

Miss T. Episode 1

Ever wondered how psychedelics could revolutionize mental health or why certain fandoms captivate us so deeply? Join me, Miss T., as I kick off the Spectrum of Hyperfixations podcast by sharing my personal journey as a late-diagnosed autistic adult and certified life coach. In this inaugural episode, I get candid about my struggles with suicidal ideation in 2022 and how I've transformed that experience into a mission to help others. Expect a mix of raw, heartfelt revelations and the excitement of geeking out over my current obsessions, from Hazbin Hotel to Dragon Ball Z.

Get ready for a whirlwind of topics—from the randomness of hyperfixations and mental wellness tools to the potential benefits of psychedelic-assisted therapy. You'll get a sneak peek into my world, including my love for pop culture and fandoms, while also shedding light on the importance of mental health awareness, particularly as we approach Suicide Awareness and Prevention Month. Whether you're here for the fandoms, the mental health insights, or just curious about life as a neurodivergent adult, this episode promises a compelling start to our eclectic adventure together. Speaker 1:

Hello and welcome to the very first episode of a Spectrum of Hyperfixations podcast. I am your host, miss T, and the T stands for Tracy. So this podcast came about just in a way for me to have some fun and kind of info dump and just geek out about the things I really love, because it's hard to find people who are into the same thing, even though the internet is out there. There are so many different sites you can be on Um, but it's just kind of way for me to connect with others in a in a different way. So a little bit about me. Um, I am a late diagnosed autistic adult. I was diagnosed with autism at the age of 32. And yesterday I just turned 35. So that's been hard to unpack and I would like to do a couple episodes on that, on that, and so let's just touch on that. And again, this is kind of what you might get with the podcast is just a bunch of like squirrel moments where the brain decides to go one way even though you're thinking it was going to go the other way. These episodes are probably going to be super random. That's why in the show notes I will put what each episode kind of touches on, like which hyper fixation I am going to discuss for the day, because it can range from you know the the fandom I'm into to mental health issues and my own struggles or the tools I'm using. We can talk about, like pop culture things. Really, it's just a place for me to geek out about the stuff that I'm really into in the moment, and I also hope to have guests on to be able to talk with them about what lights them up. That's my goal and my hope for this is that we can all learn a little bit about each other and some things that you might not even know exist in this world, like. One of those things is psychedelics, psychedelic assistance. I guess I don't even know what you say and should I keep this in? I'll keep this in, but yeah, using psychedelics to kind of help your mental health a bit. That rocked my world when I heard of it and I still kind of want to give it a try, as some states are world when I heard of it and I still kind of want to give it a try, as some states are legalizing it. I am currently based in Kansas, so, no, it's not legal here. I will not be trying it until it's legalized. I don't want to get in trouble, and so, yeah, the show might be a bit random we could be talking about one subject, one episode, and then the next week we are just off the rails with another one.

Speaker 1:

So introduction about me. Again back to me I am a certified life coach. I had a very rough and traumatic 2022 and it culminated in me being hospitalized for severe suicide ideation. I was ready to leave this planet, had a severe mental breakdown, also recognizing that it was, you know, probably autistic burnout as well. Reading up on that and just kind of reinvented myself. And as I'm getting further along on recovery, I want to help others and make a purpose out of something that was really, really painful, and so some episodes might also be just me kind of processing things as they come up, as they do and making mental health, you know, a little less stigmatized, especially coming into stigmatized, especially coming into Suicide Awareness and Prevention Month next month. So I'm truly a boring person, I promise, but hopefully we can make this fun and engaging and I hope you stick around, check it out.

Speaker 1:

Let me list some fandoms that you might be interested in to hear episodes of. So currently I'm really into Hasbun Hotel. I love Dragon Ball Z, but let's only say that it is the Cell Saga and the superhero movie. I was big into Ace Attorney, pirates of the Caribbean there were some actors back in the day and now I've realized that you know real life. People just kind of let you down looking at Johnny Depp. So, again, in mental health topics, talking about autism, neurodivergence, basically anything and everything I want to talk about. So glad to have you here, keeping this intro episode super short and just, yeah, check it out for a couple episodes, see if it's your vibe. I hope to see you again, again, or hope to have you listen again, I guess, yeah, and this is what you're gonna notice too, is that I'm super duper awkward and uh, yeah, we'll figure this out together until next time. Bye, my lovelies.
